This is our bolthole in Church Road, Pendeen, near St Just in Penwith, now known by many people as "Poldark Country" - many of the filming locations are nearby. A comfortable but deliberately not "smart" granite house in a spectacular location - the views from the house windows are Geevor tin mine, the sea, Carn Eanes and the moors. Walk up Church Road to: Carn Eanes where there are beautiful panoramic sea views all the way to the Scilly Islands and Longships lighthouse, Woon Gumpus moor ("The Gump") hence the name of the house, via Standing stones and onwards for miles across open countryside. Walk across the fields at the front and you are on the South West Coastal path and can walk around Geevor tin mine, to Pendeen watch, Botallack, the Crown mines and onwards west to St Just, the Cot Valley,Sennen Cove and Cape Cornwall or east back up the coast to towards Zennor and St Ives. We will be letting friends and family use the house so please ask if you would like to borrow it- it is very comfortable with 4 bedrooms, two sitting rooms, a fully equipped eat-in kitchen and bathroom with shower and bath. It is dog and child friendly as it has "Cornish hedges" all round the good-sized garden. See website for more photos of house, garden and surrounding area.
